STGCC Media Day Report [Event]

here's the sign at B1 carpark .... i'm a skeptic to this convention. last year, year 1, ok with Blythe, Domuya as the highlight for me .... still i'm glad i'm here today, thx to LEon for inviting to get me in on Media Day ....

the grand entrance ....

hey, some artist are working hard for the comic banner ....

registration on the right of entrance on Media Day, saw Boon Leng, a very old friend and a vet in the toy scene. for me, i'm a comic reader since 87, toy collector since 96 [unless u count collecting playmobil and star wars figures in the 70s, a 1/6th collector since 98, a console gamer since 06 [pc games suck]. i'm pretty much a outdated vet.

eh, Media Day visitors gets the goodie bag too .... the magazines, tee shirt and most importantly the event guide, which cost $4 for public on 14to16 August 2009.

time for me to head out the convention for dinner .... i left the event at 645pm.

maybe i'll be back tomorrow or over the weekend with my wife. this event is a success. i'm happy i got the courtesy and respect from the exhibitors with my media tag [i'm just a private blogger]. glad to see some of the familiar shop owners i know thru the years too. i'm sure gonna be back next year.

glenn danzig and rob zombie are both talented artist that ventures outside their scope of music capabilities. glenn has verotik comics and rob is both a director and a great artist himself.

i do know some of my colleagues favorite passtime is football gambling. the smarter ones plays shares. well, i'm just a gamer / collector / movie buff. not much of a hobby but def devastating. above the insides of danzig's new cd, of old vaulty stuff.

i missed out this picture yesterday, the rear view to his air tank. like i say the pipes dont fit too well to the main apparutus, when it pops out, the tube whooshes and it feels like there is indeed air inside. sad to say the air tank is pplastic and not metal. a nice touch is his helm cups to his neck piece via magnet. but with just 1 leg and the light plastic body, he might topple despite the figure stand. that is when my hlem parts broke when he fell off his foot.

been awhile

been awhile since i last came here to make a blog. have sold some 360 games and bought some. finished some of the games as well but most have replay value. currently in a godfather phase, bought the dvd set as well with the guide book after discovering the whole mafia culture appealing.

cant wait to get my hands on the xbox 360 vision, a cam not only for some silly video chat but a gadget that has so much potential for my beloved console. have also placed a reservation for the HD DVD addon for the 360 with www.gamescore.com.sg .

apexplorer came in the mail 2day. brothersworker takes a break as a collabarative team and went on with solo projects. this ape is a crossover from canon and winson ma. got this awesome figure form abcexpress at ebay.

collected my brothersworker big mac 12" figure after work that i won over yahoo auctions .sg, seller was nice to have shrinked wrapped the item.

new things

went to town for shopping with my wife, and to meet up with 2 fellows to pass them toys i sold 'em at yahoo auctions. first stop is PlazaSing to collect my reserved copy of "into the blue" code1 dvd from BlueMax. so i heard "house of wax" dvd is banned. i have been outdated.

i can only do code1 dvds, or all region music dvds. i dont have a region free dvd player, i prefer code1 dvds anyways, and i dont dig piracy.

next stop takasimaya, had lunch at Ambush. my wife bought a pair of earrings and some stationeries at Kinokuniya. i got a psp zine and a surprise find .... a bathing ape catalog spring / summer 06. comes with a free white camo tote bag. awesome.

went to Tangs and i met up with a decent fellow to sell him my yoda (!!??!!). walked to FarEastPlaza and got myself a last season bathing ape tee. as i walked into the dark realms of the alleys .... a shop called ambrush sucked me in and i am poorer with a new maha snopants. been waiting to get a piece for quite awhile. the price is right this time.

waited for an hour but 2nd chap i am supoose to meet had not reply to any sms or attend to the calls. went eat dinner at sunflower vegetarian and head home b4 the chingay pocession.

came home n my new bracelet my wife bought me has arrived in registered mail. yet to get my wife her Vday present yet. oops.

2mrw will start off with another bigbang .... meeting a girl at 10am whom had returned from malaysia, will collect my brothersfree X levi's 12" action figure which she had kindly 'import' to our homeland. this item belongs to her brother-in-law which i had purchase from him thru a malaysia toy forum.

has been a tiring day. time to rest and watch some dvds.

just returned from the post office to post an item to japan for my wife. done with angpow prep too. put up new curtians for the room and had some time to touchup and clean up my toys shelf. this shelf is a old shelf from ikea, 4 tier, top 3 tiers contains some priced collection of 12inch figures. nothing fab compared to many other collectors out there, but what i have is some excellent stuff for my profile. pictures are fairly taken tho, without artistic angle.

recieved a call to go back to work to cover duties. 8pm to 8am. will go pickup my wife, have some macdonalds for dinner, have a quick run over the nursery thereafter [wife needs a potted plant] then drop her home n head to work.

2day's a occupied day, plus i did my droids crafting already [a task i try to do ingame] , 2day's complete.

drained i will be again 2mrw when i returned from work. at 33 i got hit by the effect of aging, i'm 36yrs 18days old.

tuesday was kinda fast to passed on, drained after my night duty at work. wednesday a brand new day with many little chores to run .... and the morning starts with personal finacial update followed by internet research and mail checks.

also in my mind, contemplating on two old works of brothersfree brothersworker 12" figures. one is R3 Smart, i gave a missed in dec04 when they had him at action city. the other is a brothersfree x levi's. currently both located from taiwan, priced SGD500 each.
